Ace, Henkel announce $2,000 college scholarship winners

Ace Hardware Foundation and Henkel Corporation have once again partnered to provide a scholarship program for Ace employees and Ace customers. Congratulations go to all the deserving winners who were selected for the fall 2008 award. A total of 20 students were selected – five consumers, three from corporate and 12 at the retail store level.

The scholarships were awarded to students attending a four-year university in the fall of 2008. Scholarship Program Administrators (SPA) received more than 245 completed applications. The third-party company took an unbiased approach to qualifying and judging each submission. The selection of the winners was based on a combination of the following.

  • Standardized Test Scores
  • Curriculum
  • Essay
  • High School or College Class Rank
  • Extracurricular Activities

“This year, with so many highly qualified applicants, we had a tough time narrowing it down to our final selections,” said SPA spokesperson, J.R. Simon.
